Reply to Instagram comments with ChatGPT

Auto-reply tools post the same line under every comment. ChatGPT can read each comment and write a reply that answers it. CueEditio lists only the comments you have not replied to yet, so a second run never double-replies.

Ask ChatGPT

You

My pinned reel has a lot of questions. Answer the unanswered ones using the FAQ I pasted above.

ChatGPT

22 unanswered comments, 14 are questions covered by your FAQ (shipping, refunds, sizes). Here are the 14 replies. The other 8 are compliments. Want a short thank-you for those too?

Example conversation. Post names and counts will be your own.

The CueEditio tools that run

  • list_postsLists recent posts and reels with comment counts so ChatGPT can pick the ones with the most waiting.
  • list_commentsPulls comments with unhandled_only, so only comments you have not replied to come back.
  • reply_to_commentPosts each public reply under its comment.

How it works

  1. 1.Connect once

Add the CueEditio MCP to ChatGPT and connect Instagram.

  2. 2.Say which posts and what tone

"My last 3 reels, short and friendly, answer questions properly."

  3. 3.Review the drafts

ChatGPT shows the replies before posting. Edit any, or say go.

  4. 4.Re-run any time

Already-answered comments are skipped, so a daily run only touches new ones.

ChatGPT shows each write tool call and waits for your approval. Write the DM once in the chat and reuse it across rules.

Limits to know

  • Public replies are capped at 600 per hour per account.
  • Replying needs CueEditio Pro ($6 or ₹459 a month). Listing comments is free.
  • CueEditio replies to top-level comments on your own posts. It cannot comment on other people’s posts.

Questions

No. list_comments marks comments you already replied to (replied_by_me), and ChatGPT asks for unhandled comments only.

Yes. Public replies have no age limit, so you can clear a backlog on reels from months ago. Only DMs are limited to comments from the last 7 days.

Give ChatGPT two or three of your real replies as examples, or keep a short style note in its instructions. It drafts every reply and shows them to you before posting.

No. The CueEditio MCP can read and reply. It has no tool to hide or delete comments.

Custom MCP servers need developer mode, which OpenAI enables on some paid plans. Check the Plugins page in your ChatGPT settings. CueEditio itself works on its free plan for reading and on Pro for sending.

Connect CueEditio to ChatGPT

Create an account, connect your Instagram professional account, then add the MCP server above. Reading comments is free; sending replies and DMs needs Pro.
